Wild Birds Unlimited of Syosset NY is looking for a part-time Retail Sales Associate. The Sales Associate, would have ongoing training to be a sales leader and potential Store Manager on the floor.

Sales Associate Qualifications and Training:
• Complete Backyard Bird Feeding Certified Training
• Complete Retail and Sales Training
• Reads and Understands the Employee Handbook, Including the Ten Touch Points Training
• Ability to lift and carry 20lbs and climb a 6ft ladder
• Hobby or interest in outdoor/ nature/ birdfeeding a plus but not necessary
Sales Associate Responsibilities:
• Delivering a high energy customer experience
• Being the local expert to give proper customer satisfaction
• Understands and communicates the stores merchandise to customers
• Changing of displays, signage and restocking merchandise
• Successful selling to satisfy customer and complete the ringing of sales through the point of sale system
• Assisting in opening and closing the store and accurate accounting of all cash and charges receipts
• Maintain good housekeeping standards
• Keeping the store and back room clean and organized
• Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic and professional demeanor
Manager In Training Responsibilities:
• Report directly to store owner
• Profitably manage day to day operations by following best practices
• Maintaining adequate inventory levels
• Ordering and receiving inventory and maintaining pricing updates
• Implement the monthly marketing planner
• Prepare displays for upcoming promotions and events
• Responsible for accurate and timely accounting and daily bookkeeping
• Running of monthly reports
